Chinos Pants for Men

"Chinos" is a term loosely used to define a certain style of pants. Also sometimes called khakis, chinos are popular pants used for casual wear.

Chinos are made from a coarse cotton twill or a cotton and polyester blend.

History
The word "chino" comes from Spanish. In Latin America, the term means "toasted" and refers to the color.
Function
Chinos were originally worn by the military. The fabric was popular in the 1800s among the British and French military and became popular in the United States when servicemen returned from the Philippines with the material after the Spanish-American War.

Color
Chinos can come in many colors, such as gray and dark brown, but khaki is the traditional color of the pants and why they are sometimes referred to as khakis.

Benefits
People enjoy chinos because they are easy to care for and wash, match well with many different shirts and don't wrinkle much.

  1. A little history of chinos. Wow this pants had been through a lot. One thing that you missed to mention is that there's a lot of cheap chinos for men out there just waiting to be worn. :)
