Without having to exercise often, there are other ways to make you appear thinner. Wearing tops that flatter your torso or wearing tight spandex to squeeze your belly are one of the few things you can do to look thinner these days.

Wear a corset. Back in the old days, women used to wear corsets. It was actually a part of their custom. Although they are uncomfortable to wear, they will shed off the look of five pounds or so. You can find special corsets that are especially made for making you look thinner.
Wear tops that flatter you. By choosing a top that flatters your chest, what you are doing is drawing the attention away from your torso and to the shirt style. A good style can certainly take off a few pounds. Make sure the shirt you have doesn’t have too many patterns or that will draw more attention to your chest area.

Wear tops that are longer. Think of it as cropping a picture online. You have this really wide picture and you want to make it look long. This is what you are doing with your body. The long shirt will make it appear as if you have longer legs and a thinner waist. Instead of wearing baggy clothes, which is a no no in the fashion industry - always wear a long shirt instead.
Wear one size larger. By this, I don’t mean wearing really baggy clothes. Just wear up one size larger. Doing this will make you look thinner, since it doesn’t seem like you are suffocating in your clothes. For example, you don’t want to have your belly fat squeezing out of your jeans and spilling over the pants slightly. I remember one time when I used to drink one too many beers and that’s what happened to me by the end of a few months.
