Fashion in Winter

Staying sexy and chic is extremely important to every fashionista. Many times, women will sacrifice comfort for style. During the cold winter months, this could mean freezing while looking fabulous. It doesn't have to be that way. There are plenty of chic and stylish ways to stay warm in winter. Another concern is caring for winter clothing. When a stylish woman invests in quality winter items, she will find that they will stay fresh and fabulous for years to come, as long as the proper care is given.

It is so easy to select chunky winter clothing that is anything but flattering to a woman's figure. Instead of choosing oversized wool sweaters, pick shaped sweaters that will show off your figure. For a sexy look, wear skin-tight thermal underwear or leggings underneath a denim mini skirt and jacket. Thermal underwear should be chosen in frigid climates, as they will keep you warmer than leggings and the look is just as hot. Choosing bright colors instead of dark grays, browns and blacks will brighten your complexion and make you have a sexy winter glow.

Tweed wool jackets look great in the office. Lightweight wool skirts and slacks pair great with jackets and sweaters. On the weekend, choose Gore-Tex or other fleece pullover shirts in feminine colors. Thermal underwear can be worn under lighter clothing to stay warm. Camel hair, cashmere and leather are cozy options to wool.

Many winter clothing items are made of delicate fabrics. Never attempt to wash leather, wool or other delicate winter clothing. Instead, take the clothing to a dry cleaner. Dry clean your entire winter wardrobe at the end of the season and store it in non-humid conditions to keep moths or other pests from ruining your clothing. You might wish to buy a garment bag for expensive leather or wool items to provide safe storage.
